Announcement regarding Model Releases

For many years I have enjoyed creating amazing imagery with countless wonderful people and hope to do so for many more years to come. Until now I have been very low key about projects with friends, referrals, and countless models from Model Mayhem, One Model Place, and other modeling resources looking to build their portfolios and/or just have fun creating art through photography.

As of August 1, 2010 I will now require any and all photography subjects SHOOTING UNPAID PROJECTS to sign a standard model release stipulating what is already generally understood: I own all photos, all photo copyright and the rights to use all photos in whatever manner I wish.

I encourage all existing and prospective models to continue approaching me for shooting opportunities. I always hold the interest of my models first and foremost and will continue to do so. This arrangement will eliminate any ambiguity in the responsibility and use of creative assets by all parties.

Great organization, very worthy cause, incredibly dedicated volunteers. I’m glad I got to share in some small way with their efforts to complete this amazing project. The dogs in attendance… were awesome.

Well holy crap that was a ride! Presale tickets for the MGM Las Vegas show went on sale this morning at 10am on the dot. Due to an error on my part I didn’t hit the link until 10:02am. My jaw hit the floor and more than few terse words and phrases were uttered when every seating configuration came up with “no seats available”. I literally retried every config a hundred times, refresh refresh refresh refresh, stupid captcha words I hate you so much I can’t read your monkey scrawl goddamit I typed it wrong again you GOTTA BE KIDDING ME NO SEATS WHAT THE HELL??? On my hundred and first punch of the button I was just sitting there in a daze when I realized it was prompting me to continue with two choice seats floor level. YEAH BABY!!!

RUSH Time Machine Tour 2010

That’s show number two. Tickets secured for the Washington State show, tickets for one Chicago show coming.

Coupled with the release this week of the documentary “RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage” (gotta get my hands on that blueray release in June), it’s a great time to be a RUSH fan!!!

As they say, “it’s in the can!”

Wow. This weekend was a whirlwind and one of the most interesting of my life bar NONE.

I was totally thrilled (and a bit tired) to shoot the final shots for my Body Light project in the wee hours of this morning – I think we finished up when the birds started singing and the night sky was starting to see the beginnings of a beautiful sunny day in Portland. The vibe was energetic and enriching and I was impressed with so many key shots it’s going to make it impossible to select the final set.

And that’s what’s next – final selection, editing and off to the printer to prepare for a show/hanging to start in Bend. About time!!

A wild hair led to some experimentation with a more surreal overlay. It’s fascinating to pick the model out in the shot…

Pretty sweet way to spend a beautiful Tuesday late afternoon. Prep the studio, sit out on the deck with a rum and DC, read a good book while soaking up the sun – sounds of the river flowing lazily bye mix with the sounds of joggers and ducks and emerging insects. Bastard squirrels scamper around continuing to wreak havoc and plan their ultimate assault against mankind. Two lovely sisters show up, bringing me Croutons and a baby that simply shrugs at the word “cute” and goes right for the “adorable” jugular.

So we had bra strap issues – no biggie, no hurry, all is chill. And Sam turns on the most stunning blue eyes… kills it. Wow. Thanks Sam – nice job!
