Screw meth – I’ve got eye candy
It’s too often the case for me that I forget a very important lesson in all the hustle and bustle of getting a shoot accomplished and processed for a predetermined outcome: take a step back and let the production guy take a back seat to the artist. So many times the photos I take BEG for a little attention beyond the rush to get them out the door. And that’s the line between production photos and fine art – few fine art photos are created inside the camera. The RAW material is there, but the “art” needs to be lovingly shaped and molded.
The current theme for the Renegades dictates a certain look and feel and production is straightforward to meet that goal. But then I come across a photo like this one of JT. Suddenly my mouse is bucking the system and doing things to exaggerate the color contrast and fling her off the backdrop. Damn mice have minds of their own sometimes… But this sudden diversion has me looking at the image in a whole new way – and I find I love it.
