I’ve been interested in trying block posters for awhile. I like the edgy/artsy look to the pieces. Whether you trim the individual components or leave white borders – or even increase the depth of spacing between blocks – the look can be really cool. And the size is extremely flexible – 9 pieces, 18, 27, etc. A tapestry can be created easily depending on the resolution of the image used.
Beyond that it encourages a whole new look at the processing behind any one image. Screw polished – a large piece might be better served with a very raw, grainy finish.
This trial piece is for JT, who went through hell the other night while doing something really special for her husband. A big thumbs up and a “YOU F’N ROCK!” to you JT…
